It makes me feel more capable than what I usually think I can do.

I am a Helena native, the youngest of three sisters, and love doing all the normal Helena things such as hiking, being outside, etc. I am a biology nerd and went to Carroll College for a degree in biology, and went on to do research and receive a Master’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Idaho. I am currently working in Helena, saving up some money, and I am applying for PhD programs in biology research and hope to start a program next fall.

I started CrossFit in Idaho more than 2 years ago, because I was looking for a way to work out, that didn’t involve just running. I had never tried weightlifting before so I thought I would try it! I always enjoyed watching people throw around a lot of weight and thought I would like to be that person too!

I love how strong it makes you feel when you can lift heavier and heavier weights. It makes me feel more capable than what I usually think I can do. The community is also very supportive, uplifting, and makes working out all the better!

I usually start the day around 6AM, have some breakfast (usually overnight oats), and head to work around 7 or 730AM. I work till around 5PM, then head to the gym to work out. After working out I go home and make dinner or eat what my mom has kindly made me.
