Viome Health Journey Month 2

So as you recall, month two was all about vegetables and hitting the allotted servings prescribed by VIOME. My protein and fat servings were 8. Had no issues with that. I used Catalina Protein Cereal for breakfast 2 servings, lunch usually was leftover chicken/bison of 2 servings, and dinner the same chicken/bison 2 servings, and I would have a couple of servings of almond butter or the like to round it off. If I was ever hungry this was where I would eat an additional serving or two.

Fruit and Grains was 5 servings. I had to cut this back from month 1 where I went a little overboard. I would have a cup of blueberries in the morning along with a banana and a serving of oats throughout the day along with an apple. That gave me 4, then left me the option to have rice, corn or the likes with dinner.

Vegetables, 12 servings. This one was the hard one. I got very consistent with having a cucumber which was 3 servings, 2 servings of carrots, and 2 servings of celery prior to dinner. Dinner I would usually add a can of peas or sweet potato to make 3 more. So I would get 10ish. Considering it was 1 before, I think that is a win.

The only snag of the month, VIOME shipped my next month’s set of supplements on the 7th of March, and I have not seen them yet. So, about a week without the supplements. VIOME has been good, they are waiting to hear from the carrier and will send another free of charge.

Results for the month:

InBody Scan:

Fat from 18.4 to 17.4%. This is now down below my starting value of 17.5% even after going up last month. My muscle mass stayed the same at 96 so good there. A good month, guess I will keep eating my vegetables.

WHOOP Measurements:

HRV went from 39 to 40(Good), so an additional 3% Increase after the 8% for month one at 36. Resting Heart Rate was down an additional 4% to 50 (Good) from 52 and my first month value of 54. My average recovery dipped a bit from 69% to 67% but is 3 moths of green averages versus the 6 months of yellow recovery prior to the start of the journey.

The next month I will continue the focus on hitting the serving numbers and eating superfoods and avoiding the bad. Hopefully a shipment of supplements shows to get back on those.

Make it a great day and let FireTower Athletics know if we can help you with any of your health journey.
