The VIOME supplements finally arrived. Went about a week without them, no biggie, guess now that my next months have also arrived, I have about a little over a week of extra now in case they disappear again.
So how did the month go. I was disciplined in eating my veggies, but slipped in water intake and protein. I also had a birthday this month, so 1 day, I ate whatever I wanted. Beef burger, fries and a blizzard! Blizzard didn’t feel so go afterward but that was expected haha.
I got lazy and didn’t have my evening protein shake. I think that hurt my numbers a bit, as with extra movement (Yah Golf!) and daily strain increase, I need to make sure I get enough. I have always struggled to drink enough water, but I will increase my intake for May and see if things improve a bit more.
One thing I did notice, even if my numbers didn’t improve greatly, was my pants. This can be a great indicator even if numbers don’t seem great. My pants and shorts where a little looser toward the end of the month, so I knew regardless of numbers, things are improving.
So, what did the numbers say. From the InBody Scan my muscle went from 96 to 94. I attribute that to lack of protein shake I normally eat and dehydration to some degree. Will see if that rings true with next month’s scan.
My body fat Was 17.4, so the same as prior month. I was expecting a drop here, but noticed my pants feel looser, so going to stick to the guns, that it was the protein and water issue. If it isn’t the case, next month should show the trend and I can adjust from there.
The WHOOP metrics are next. My HRV made a small 30 day average jump up again from 40 to 41. So, every month that has increased, which is a good thing. My RHR stayed the same at 50, which is quite good.
So, in summary, with a birthday and all, a good month. I will stick to the 10ish veggie servings, 5 fruit and grain, and up the protein with a small tweak and increase water intake and see how it goes for the next month. Getting close to time to order my retest and make a final determination if supplements plus eating recommended servings makes a difference.
